Only licensed C-10 electrical contractors may legally perform EV charger installations in California. A licensed electrician evaluates your home’s electrical panel capacity and performs load calculations to determine if your existing panel can support a Level 2 EV charger or if an upgrade is needed.

Single-family homes, duplexes, and townhouses may qualify for a Simple Permit process in the City of San Diego. Confirm the current fee, plans, and inspection path with the city and your contractor. Charge Pro does not deliver a Level 2 charge as a Charge Pro crew while you wait on panel work. If the car is already stranded, Charge Pro SD can refer an independent roadside operator in San Diego County. You pay them. An independent operator confirms equipment, access, price, and timing.
